Four people in the footprint of a bicycle — shared mobility for city streets
A brand new form of mobility to address overcrowding on city streets. Within the same footprint as a bicycle, hop accommodates four people rather than one cyclist. A multi-person scooter platform, hop travels along set routes in city cycle lanes, allowing people to hop on at stops along the route.

Passengers are accustomed to standing on buses and trains in public transport settings, but with most transport solutions, standing isn’t the primary position and is usually treated as a last resort. Hop has been designed around standing to create the most optimised space. The tubular frame provides many grab points for people of different heights, high, low and in front. Hop also offers a perch bench for the person at the back.


Public transport in cities is often overcrowded and doesn’t accommodate last-mile travel. More people are looking towards bicycles and scooters as a solution, with more cities investing in bike lanes to allow people to travel. However, bikes and scooters aren’t the safest to ride on city roads offering no physical protection.


Hop is based on the construction principles of a bike, using tubular frames it is robust and familiar to the street landscape. Easy to repair, Hop has all bolts exposed to easily replace parts. Aesthetically, Hop takes cues from modern fashion, using bold graphics to signify key interactions and the floor referencing a shoe sole with playful graphics to position where each person should stand.



The hop system operates on set routes, using cycle lanes in cities it runs in loops to help people get from A to B. The app guides you on which route to get and where from, and offers a scan to enter feature for safety.

Multiple storage options, Hop optimises the space in between wheels for small luggage storage at the back, and at the front has a small basket for bags. A hook is attached to the basket to clip larger bags underneath.
