Work
Work that defines the direction of next-generation mobility across air, ground, and space.
The interior of Spaceship Neptune is comprised of many individual design tasks. The seat is one of the key interfaces with the passenger, providing luxurious comfort while at the same time, meeting all of the safety and technical requirements that space brings. This seat represents the initial intent for the Spaceship Neptune interior in 2022 as part of the public release of the capsule, we are continuing to develop the seat and interior in preparation for commercial flight. We have a strong collaborative process with the engineers and in-house doctor at Space Perspective working with them to meet all of the requirements for space travel.

We lead Experience Design within Space Perspective, supporting all aspects of design for the most pre-sold space tourism experience. We work collaboratively with the engineering and manufacturing team to deliver a capsule that meets the requirements of spaceflight, whilst creating a visually appealing vehicle for the growing space tourism market.

We’ve had the unique and unparalleled opportunity to design the world’s leading carbon-neutral space tourism vehicle as part of our ongoing work for Space Perspective. An entirely new design challenge which is pushing the boundaries of human experience and creating an accessible tourism experience. The environmental conditions and spherical form of the capsule pose unique challenges to a vehicle layout that has never been designed.

As part of our ongoing development with Space Perspective on the full design and experience of Spaceship Neptune is the one-of-a-kind lavatory, Space Spa. Tucked into one side of the capsule interior, the Space Spa serves as a solo oasis during spaceflight. Designed as the name implies, it is a soft calming retreat with an amazing view.

A brand new form of mobility to address overcrowding on city streets. Within the same footprint as a bicycle, hop accommodates four people rather than one cyclist. A multi-person scooter platform, hop travels along set routes in city cycle lanes, allowing people to hop on at stops along the route.

We have been collaborating with Vertical Aerospace in the development of their commercial eVTOL aircraft. We support the team on the design of the aircraft, looking at the exterior profile, cabin and cockpit. We also bring the vision of the VX4 and technical components to life through visualisation.

Vertical Aerospace is a pioneering British electric aircraft company. To showcase the companies air taxi, the VX4 eVTOL prototype in it’s first public reveal; we supported the design of the Vertical Aersopace stand for the Farnborough Air Show in 2022. The stand centred around the aircraft, with a circular plywood backdrop and feature lighting to showcase the design. This exhibition was extremely well received at Farnborough, standing out from the usual fair and got extremely high praise from visitors and exhibitors alike.

This reimagining of the Honda NSX was to recreate the iconic car of the 90s with a modern, minimalist approach. The NSX has wide, low proportions with strong angular lines that bring the language of the classic across. Using many thin linear lines across the design detailing.

A shift in the way people work has occurred over the last few years, with many people choosing flexible or remote working. People’s home office setups don’t reflect the domestic environment they create, lacking personality, and bringing a barrier to people’s ability to shut off from work. Homework is a solution to soften and hide the hard technology with the use of domestic materiality, The computer exists in two states, ‘home’ with a fabric board for memories and ceramic trays for personal objects and ‘work’ where the screen flips around and the underside of the trays reveals a keyboard and mouse.

Architecturally inspired stool resembling building archways, creating an elegant and complex form as one leg sits on the inside of the other. The hollow frame created by the legs functions as the foundation to attach different tops, a plant pot or a side table.

Flip is a flexible public seating concept that adapts to changing environments and human needs. Public spaces aren’t optimised for the changes in passenger flow, flip provides additional flexibility and functionality by allowing the seat to un-latch and rotate out of the way to bring space for passengers’ belongings. A modular approach to public spaces, Flip is a set of parts that can be added and changed for futureproofing and brand application.
